Overview
The Center for Morality in Public Life (CFMPL) student writing fellow program is designed to offer undergraduate and graduate students in the humanities an opportunity to contribute to public discourse on important issues affecting societal flourishing and the common good. Student writing fellows contribute to the CFMPL blog, Ethika Politika, and work with affiliated scholars to pursue meaningful, relevant research on topics in ethics, economics, politics, and law for the purpose of providing general education and edification for our readers.
Expectations & Benefits
Writing fellows commit on a semester basis. During their tenure, fellows are expected to:
Writing fellows benefit by having the chance to form close relationships with well-known scholars, as well as by learning skills necessary for working in a professional editorial and publishing environment. Moreover, student fellows may rely on CFMPL and its affiliates for letters of recommendation, and will be eligible for more advanced writing and research positions in the future.
Application
Student Writing Fellow applicants should produce a brief CV/resume, detailing academic history, interests, and any other involvements or information deemed relevant to the position. Further, applicants should submit two (2) writing samples, at least one (1) of which is research based. All items should be saved as Word or PDF files, and submitted, along with a brief cover letter/email, to Andrew Haines (ahaines@cfmpl.org).
